Quatuor Arod

Quatuor Arod vart stifta i 2013 og har hatt nytt godt av undervisninga til Mathieu Herzog og Jean Sulem og av Quatuor Artemis ved Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel i Brussel. Gruppa har òg arbeidd jamleg med Quatuor Ebène og Quatuor Diotima. I 2016 vann Quatuor Arod førstepremien ved ARD International Music Competition i München. Dei hadde alt fått førstepremien ved Carl Nielsen-konkurransen i 2015 og førstepremien ved European Competition of the FNAPEC Concours i 2014. I 2017 vart dei kalla «BBC New Generation Artist» for sesongane 2017 til 2019, og ECHO Rising Star for sesongen 2018–2019. 


I dei siste sesongane har Quatuor Arod opptredd i dei største konserthallane i Frankrike og elles i verda: Philharmonie de Paris, operaene i Bordeaux og Montpellier, Wiener Konzerthaus og Wiener Musikverein, Philharmonie Berlin, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Tonhalle Zürich, Wigmore Hall og Barbican Centre i London, Carnegie Hall i New York, Bozar Bruxelles, Auditori de Barcelona, Elbphilharmonie i Hamburg, Gulbenkian i Lisboa, Konserthuset Stockholm, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Oji Hall i Tokyo, Mozarteum i Salzburg ... og vidare i Danmark, Italia, Serbia, Finland, Marokko, Israel, Tsjekkia og Kina.


Quatuor Arod er òg med på mange festivalar: Verbier og Montreux (Sveits), Aix-en-Provence, Menton, Salon-de-Provence, Les Folles Journées de Nantes, Besançon, Heidelberg, Rheingau, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Bremen Musikfest, Mozartfest Würzburg, Spring Music Festival of Prague, Cheltenham Festival ofl.


Quatuor Arod samarbeider med artistar som fiolinistane Amihai Grosz, Antoine Tamestit, Timothy Ridout og Mathieu Herzog, pianistane Eric Lesage, Alexandre Tharaud og Adam Laloum, klarinettistane Martin Fröst, Romain Guyot og Michel Lethiecor og dessutan cellistane Raphaël Pidoux, Kyril Zlotnikov, Camille Thomas, François Salque, Jérôme Pernoo og Bruno Philippe. I 2017 fekk kvartetten pris for framføringa av den franske komponisten Benjamin Attahirs første strykekvartett (bestilt av La Belle Saison, ProQuartet og Quatuor Arod). 


Quatuor Arod har gjort innspelingar hos Erato Warner Classics. Det første Mendelssohn-albumet kom ut hausten 2017. Det nye albumet, dedisert til Mathilde Zemlinsky, der også sopranen Elsa Dreisig er med (Schoenberg, Zemlinsky og Webern), kom ut hausten 2019. 


Quatuor Arod er i residens hos Fondation Singer-Polignac og hos ProQuartet – CEMC. Kvartetten er HSBC-prisvinnar frå Académie du Festival d’Aix, og Fondations Banque Populaire og Safran. Dei er støtta av ADAMI og PACA-regionen. Société Générale’s Musical Sponsorship programme er Quatuor Arods hovudsponsor. Antrekka er frå Blandin et Delloye – Paris.

Founded in 2013, the Quatuor Arod benefited from the teaching of Mathieu Herzog and Jean Sulemas well as the Quatuor Artemis at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. It has also worked regularly with the Quatuor Ebène and the Quatuor Diotima. In 2016, it won the First Prize at theARD International Music Competition of Munich. It had already been awardedthe First Prize at the Carl Nielsen International Competition of Copenhagenin 2015 and the First Prize at the European Competition of the FNAPEC Concours in 2014. In 2017, they were named“BBC New Generation Artist” for the seasons 2017 to 2019, and ECHO Rising Star for the season 2018-2019.

The Quatuor Arod records for the Erato Warner Classicslabel. Its first Mendelssohn albumcame out in autumn2017.Its new album, devoted to the figure of Mathilde Zemlinsky, with the participation of the soprano Elsa Dreisig (Schoenberg, Zemlinsky and Webern) will come out in autumn 2019.
